Can't beleive I am doing this.....

bloxy-moron is not a journal!!!!! But this is a journal entry (ugghhhhh). School, work and college basketball has prevented me from adding many posts on movie, concert, and book reviews as well as political observations. I have come home from school very late several times and started typing a post and find no coherency out of my random keys strokes so I give up and go to bed. I hope that I can catch up on all of my missing posts.

This post goes out to Alone in the Wilderness. Every time I check my "hit list", I find that I get on average 20 hits a day from Alone in the Wilderness googles. If I only had way to sell the video, I could probably retire to my own cabin in the wilderness.

Name change

My blog has finally taken some direction and I can drop the boring generic "Erik's Public Journal".  This was the most accurate title I could come up with when I started my blog. 

When I noticed that I followed my conservative post with a Moore rock video post, then I knew seattleWilco has found a moral direction:  breaking down the walls of the two ideological towers.  Or just make sure I offend both my conservative and liberal ( I hate those two words) friends equally. Although I will make no attempt to be "fair and balanced". I will always just post what interests me.  Who knows what direction this will take next month.  I just hope it doesn't run out of gas.

First blogging success!

A previous post on taxes, generated a comment from jeffy that pointed me to a book titled Tax Shift. Wow three link in one sentence. Well, I am about half way through the book and it has turned into one of those treasures where you start with an idea that seems original and then you find a book that takes your idea and does all of the research for you and expands it to realms that you never thought of.  Well this happened to me. 

Lately I have been thinking how consumption and not work should be taxed as a way of encouraging work and investment while discouraging the waste of resources.  Well, Tax Shift lays out how this might work in the Northwest.  I will be giving a much more complete review when I am done with the book.  Thanks jeffy!!

So, my Utopian dream of blogging (see about) came true within a few weeks.

My friend Justice and I started this blogging craziness around the same time for the same reasons.  The energy of the election along with the inefficiency of spamming our friends lead us to the world of blogging.  So Justice and I have been sharing tips and helping each other out.

The busheye blog gives exhaustive coverage of election fraud in 2004. If you have interest in how this is unfolding, check it out.

All Americans (both red and blue and even the white ones) should care deeply that our elections are fair.  This should NOT be a political issue. There is evidence of inconsistencies that should be investigated in order to bring credibility to our election process.  I feel this is a bigger issue then even who the next president will be.

What does seattleWilco mean?

Well there are many definitions. Simple answer I live in (very near) Seattle and one of my favorite bands is Wilco www.wilcoweb.com.  But the name first came from 45 mins of frustration in the middle of the night as I tried to come up with an eBay name that I could remember.  Ever variation of every user name I have ever had in my life has been taken.  It was a very maddening experience but I really wanted to make my "first" bid.   I finally followed their directions that said string 3 of your favorite hobbies together to form a name.  I used only two and they happened to be Seattle and Wilco.  Sentimental answer, my wife and I just attended a Wilco concert in Seattle (there will be a review coming).  It happened to be on our anniversary! and it was amazing Since the concert is still on my mind, it became my user name.  Wow this was too many words for a simple irrelevant question.
